DOG RESCUE AND ANIMAL SANCTUARY

|Dogs of the Month|

Each month we will highlight two of our adoptable dogs! Adoption saves lives and we want to make sure we are sharing as many pets as we can. All animals deserve a home filled with love and kindness and should be treasured.

King

This gorgeous guy with the adorable ears came to us from NYCACC where he was set to be euthanized. We were able to save him at the last second and give him a second chance at life and this guy deserves it. He takes a little bit to warm up but once he does he will never leave your side. King is loyal, athletic, sweet, and all around a great catch. He would prefer to be your one and only as he wants to give and get all the kisses. His enthusiasm to see his people is intoxicating and will put the biggest smile on your face. There is no questioning if this boy loves you, he wears his heart on his sleeve, or fur. Booty scratches are one of his favorite things and he enjoys going for long walks and snuggling on the couch. Let's give this spectacular pup the home he deserves!

Boss

Big Boss man as we lovingly call him is a stunning black Labrador/pit mix that loves to play with his jollyball. He was rescued from euthanasia at Austin Animal Center after spending months in a kennel with no human interaction. He sat there alone 24/7 as no staff or volunteers were allowed to interact with him, they claimed he was too dangerous. Boss? No, this stud just wants to be loved and will shower you with kisses. Boss is a great example of a dog failed by the system. No one wanted to work with his amazing boy and never bothered to see the wonderful things about him. Snap judgements made and then sentenced to death. When in reality, he loves going for walks and playing fetch in the yard. He is a big boy that really enjoys spending time with his people. He gets along with other pups and would make a loyal and great companion.

DOG BOARDING- We are not offering boarding at this time. Please check back later.

Layla's Heart Ranch and Rescue offers premier dog boarding in addition to our rescue efforts. We always go above and beyond to make sure that your pet's stay with us is fun and safe. We understand that leaving your pup in a safe and loving environment is important to you. It's important to us, too. Our kennels are cleaned daily and thoroughly with dog safe products. Your dog will enjoy two daily walks as well as individual play time each day they are with us. We do not do group play unless you bring in multiple dogs within the same family. Does your pet need daily medicine? We ensure that they get it! Your furry family member will be housed in a kennel that has an indoor and outdoor area and they can come and go as they please. We know you will miss your pet and they will surely miss you, so feel free to call and check in on them as often as you would like!

Boarding Fees:
$50 per night

FOSTER-TO-ADOPT

What is foster-to-adopt? Foster-to adopt is a great way to learn if one of our dogs is a good fit for your family prior to committing to adoption. When you foster-to adopt, you take the animal home as a foster and see if the relationship is meant to be. This way the dog can relax in your home and show its true personality. This also gets the dog into a home environment where they can live like a normal dog. If you decide to adopt the dog you will be required to pay the appropriate adoption fee.

KATIE JOHNSON

President

Katie Johnson, serves as the president and founder of Layla's Heart Ranch and Rescue, a dog rescue and animal sanctuary for Texas' most at risk pets and farm animals. A Colorado native and avid Denver Broncos fan, Katie has chosen to dedicate her career and life to rescuing, rehabilitating, training, and finding either forever homes or providing sanctuary for abused, neglected, and at risk animals. An animal lover since childhood, she grew up with dogs and named this rescue after her beloved golden retriever that passed away in 2018. She has experience as a foster, and volunteer and has completed training to become a high level dog handler. Katie specializes in "behavior dogs" and believes that every animal deserves a chance to have a beautiful life. When she isn't with the animals at the rescue, Katie enjoys spending time with her young son and watching him grow and learn. She is a very proud mother and also has five rescue dogs, a rescue cat and two rescue pigs of her own. Katie strives to make the world a better place for her son to grow up and for all creatures on this Earth.
